Interreg IVC aims to encourage Member States and regions to exchange and transfer knowledge and good practice.
The Programme focuses on two main priorities:
These priorities contribute towards the EU’s Lisbon and Gothenburg Strategies to encourage sustainable growth and jobs.
The INTERREG IVC programme, which is funded under the European Regional Development Fund, is one of the four Territorial Cooperation Programmes in which Malta participated during the 2007-2013 programming period. The main objective of this programme is to improve regional policies through the exchange of experience and good practices. All EU Member States are eligible to participate in the programme, as well as regional and local public authorities in two non-Member States, namely Switzerland and Norway.Â
Out of the projects selected for funding under this Programme, 23 include Maltese entities. The total budgetary allocation for Malta by means of such projects amounts to €2.5 million from ERDF. Further information about Malta’s participation in the Interreg IVC Programme may be accessed here.
