The Ministry responsible for EU Funds owns several information systems developed over the years for the management of funds and facilities from the European Union and other bilateral agreements. The information systems are designed to manage the respective Programmes and Plans in line with the respective regulations.
The backbone of the information systems is the financial mechanism for the management of funds from the Programme level down to invoice level.  The systems are used to record and store data in computerised form on each project necessary for monitoring, evaluation, financial management, verification, audit and publicity. The databases maintain accounting records of expenditure declared to the Commission and keep account of amounts recoverable and of amounts withdrawn.
The centralised information systems bring together various stakeholders, which include the Managing Authorities, Audit Authority, Certifying Authority, Intermediate Bodies, Beneficiaries, EU Payments Unit, Line Ministries, and the Strategy & Implementation Division.
