Project Summary:

The project led to the conservation and restoration of rubble walls within the ‘Outside Development Zone’ of Siggiewi, with the delineated sites situated in areas of high landscaping context. The project contributed to the general landscape and the conservation of Malta’s rural heritage, whilst contributing to the prevention of soil erosion, enhancing soil areas which could be used for crops and other agricultural vegetation. Works included the careful dismantling of various sections of the existing deteriorated rubble wall, which was set aside for reuse, and the construction of rubble walls to the required thicknesses completed according to the trade.
