Mobility Projects for Pupils & Staff

Mobility projects support schools to organise learning mobility activities abroad for pupils and staff, contributing to improved teaching quality and enriched learning environments.

Who Can Participate?

Eligible organisations

  • Any organisation in Malta providing or supporting school education

Eligible participants

Staff mobility

  • Teachers
  • School leaders
  • Non-teaching staff (e.g. teacher assistants, pedagogical advisors, psychologists)
  • Staff working in organisations active in school education

Pupil mobility

  • Pupils enrolled in an education programme at the sending school

Other supported activities

  • Invited experts
  • Hosting teachers and educators in training
  • Invited experts and hosting teachers and educators in training

What Activities Can Take Place?

Staff mobility

  • Job shadowing
  • Teaching assignments
  • Courses and training

Pupil mobility

  • Short-term learning mobility
  • Long-term learning mobility
  • Group mobility of pupils

What Is Funded?

  • Organisational support – preparation and management
  • Travel costs – return travel
  • Individual support – subsistence
  • Inclusion support – additional funding for participants with fewer opportunities
  • Preparatory visits
  • Course fees
  • Linguistic support
  • Exceptional costs (e.g. visas, financial guarantees)

Types of Mobility Projects

Short-term projects

  • Duration: 6 to 18 months
  • Suitable for first-time applicants or limited mobility activities
  • Maximum 3 grants within 5 call years
  • Maximum of 30 participants
  • 1 application per organisation

Accredited projects

  • Open only to organisations holding an Erasmus Accreditation in School Education
