Mobility Projects for Learners and Staff in VET

Mobility projects enable VET organisations to organise learning mobility abroad for learners and staff, strengthening vocational skills and professional development.

Who Can Participate?

Eligible organisations

  • Any organisation established in Malta providing or supporting VET

Eligible participants

Learner mobility

  • VET learners enrolled in a recognised VET programme

Staff mobility

  • Teachers, trainers, and instructors
  • In-company trainers and mentors
  • Non-teaching staff involved in VET provision

What Activities Can Take Place?

Learner mobility

  • Short-term learning mobility
  • Long-term learning mobility (including apprenticeships)
  • Group mobility of learners

Staff mobility

  • Job shadowing
  • Teaching or training assignments
  • Professional development activities

Other supported activities

  • Invited experts
  • Hosting teachers and trainers in training

What Is Funded?

Funding may cover:

  • Organisational support – preparation and management
  • Travel costs – return travel
  • Individual support – subsistence
  • Inclusion support – additional funding for participants with fewer opportunities
  • Preparatory visits
  • Linguistic support
  • Exceptional costs (e.g. visas, financial guarantees)

Types of Mobility Projects

Short-term projects

  • Duration: 6 to 18 months
  • Suitable for new or occasional applicants
  • Maximum 3 grants within 5 call years
  • Maximum of 30 participants
  • 1 application per organisation

Accredited projects

  • Open to organisations holding an Erasmus Accreditation in VET
  • Provide predictable, long-term access to funding
  • Support implementation of the organisation’s Erasmus Plan
