As an Erasmus+ student, you are exempt from fees for tuition, registration, examinations, and charges for access to laboratories or libraries at the receiving institution.
Depending on which country you’re visiting to do your Erasmus+ from Malta, the financial grants are as follows:
The groups are differentiated depending on living costs between Malta and the destination country, number of students applying for a grant and distance between countries and the availability of other grants.
Group 1 countries – EUR 674+250 top up per month:
Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
Group 2 countries –Â EUR 606+250 top up per month:
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain
Group 3 countries –Â EUR 550+250 top up per month:
Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey
Those engaging in Traineeships, get an additional 150Eur a month.
In addition, students will receive the following support to cover travel costs:

It is important to research the University or organisations that you wish to go on Erasmus+ on and see which language they conduct their lectures, exams, activities etc in. Make sure you know the language well enough or engage in courses to learn the language.
Yes you can, however the same student can participate in mobility periods totalling up to 12 months maximum per each cycle of study. The study cycles are divided as follows:
- First study cycle: (Bachelor or equivalent – EQF levels 5 and 6)
- Second study cycle: (Master or equivalent – EQF level 7)
- Third study cycle: Doctoral candidate (doctoral level or EQF level 8).
No, you cannot. You must check with the International Office of your home university and see which universities are available and open to taking in students currently reading for your particular degree or diploma etc.
Your home university will recognise the number of ECTS credits (or equivalent) that were agreed before your mobility. Nonetheless, all credits that you as a student wish to earn from your host university, must be approved by all parties in the learning agreement.
