FAQs – Informal Groups of Young People in Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps

An informal group consists of at least four young people who are not legally registered under national law. One member must have the legal capacity to undertake obligations on behalf of the group.

No. If a group is legally registered (e.g. as an NGO or association), it is not considered informal. Applications submitted under a registered organisation’s name will be treated as such, even if the project involves young people.

Informal groups are allowed to manage only one active Erasmus+ or ESC project at a time. They must complete the ongoing project before applying for another.

Misrepresentation may lead to ineligibility or administrative sanctions. Applicants must ensure their declared status matches their actual legal standing.
