As a youth participant on your own, you also can apply for Discover EU. DiscoverEU is an initiative that offers young people, aged 18, the opportunity to travel across Europe with the aim to encourage exploration of Europe’s cultural heritage, promote a sense of European identity, and foster cross-cultural understanding.
European Solidarity Corps:
You can volunteer for up to 12 months with organisations across the EU in a variety of organisations tackling issues such as the environment, health, inclusion, digital technologies, culture and sport.
You can also form an informal group of a minimum of 5 people and get funding to implement a solidarity project to help the local community.
To apply for a youth exchange you must first form part of a youth organisation. The youth organisation can then apply or may already be in the process of applying to implement a youth exchange project on your behalf. You can find a list of organisations for you to join on the MCVS website.
To participate in the Erasmus+ programme, no you don’t need to be warranted or licensed as a youth worker. Nonetheless, you have to be licensed to carry out the job of a youth worker in Malta.
To take part in a European Solidarity Corps project, you have to be between 18-30 years of age.
Solidarity Projects: Here youth, between the age of 18-30 can form an informal group of a minimum of 5 people and get funding to implement a solidarity project to help the local community here in Malta.
Volunteering Projects: If you’re a local Maltese organisation, you can apply for the Quality Label so you can start receiving youth volunteers from across the EU. If you’re a young person based in Malta, you can instead apply to be a volunteer in other organisations abroad.
You can access this list through the European Youth Portal, under the European Solidarity Corps section. Once you register, you can then see a list of organisations which are open for volunteers.
