Project Summary:
The project aims to preserve and restore the Basilica and adjacent buildings and seeks to turn it into an attractive communal and tourism centre. The project in fact aims to enhance the cultural value of the building by combining the possibility of viewing artistic and historical items that would in themselves make the visit meaningful, while also offering a dynamic context through audio-visual presentations. The Project will include the restoration of the Basilica and some of its paintings, the restoration of the organ which dates to mid-18th century, the restoration of the basilica crypt and the creation of an interpretation centre.
