The INVEST project has created the physical infrastructure needed for Vocational Education and Training (VET) in secondary schools in Malta and Gozo. The investment involved the setting up of seventy-eight VET labs in thirteen schools in Malta and Gozo, converting laboratories into specialized labs in the areas of Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Hospitality, Health and Social Care, Agribusiness, Retail, Textiles and Fashion, Hairdressing and Beauty, and Media Literacy. VET labs provide secondary school students with alternative academic pathways, which have the overall aim of reducing Malta’s rate of early school leavers (ESL).
