The project consisted of the commissioning of a new twin-engine fixed wing aircraft similar in type to B200, and in mission systems capable of conducting and supporting border control missions. This project has improved the AFM’s operational availability, capability and sustainability of the fixed-wing fleet and enables the AFM to continue effectively patrolling the EU maritime blue borders, both by day and by night, and in support of other EU border-related missions. The aircraft is equipped with a multitude of sensors and equipment such as electro optical/infra-red and radar sensors, full range of radio bandwidth and SATCOMS.
